Okay, so I threw together a mock-up design in 3ds Max, and it's very simple. But I'd like to get a few opinions on it, so I'll try to explain it here.

My idea is for a much easier to maintain kitty litter box.

Think of those hard plastic grocery baskets they have at supermarkets and what not (the handheld one). They stack into each other very nicely. This uses that same basic principal, but with a bit of tweaking.
You have 4 baskets (very lightweight, not bulky) that stack inside of each other. The grating on the bottom is designed so that 2 baskets stacked inside of each other create a solid bottom. The grates would need 2 different designs. Stacked A^B^A^B.

Then all you have to do is lift up one of the baskets and sift it about a lil, all of the loose litter will fall into the other 3 baskets. You dump the collected waste, and then place the other 3 inside of the 1st one. Repeat as necessary! Keep the whole set-up on a nice little rubber/plastic/whatever mat that can be easily cleaned from time to time.

Good idea? Bad idea?

Dear John,
I hope you can help me. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV. I hadn't driven more than a mile down the road when the engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help.
When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbour's daughter. I am 32, my husband is 34, and the neighbour's daughter is 19. We have been married for ten years.
When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was made redundant six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless.
I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant.. He won't go to counselling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore.

Dear Sally,
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors.

I just encountered this video for the first time. It's about fonts. It's pretty damn funny and creative.

As a would-be designer the video appealed to me a lot. I have a font collection mulling about in the 22,000 area, and I spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect one for whatever it is I'm working on.

I dunno how I missed this video before. I'm going to have to spend some more time dipping my boredom stick into the CollegeHumor archives.

That makes it sound like I'm going to rape a website. Not illegal, yet.

So I finally got my damn car working.

It's always had a problem starting when it gets cold. Single-digit temp and it's a no-go. Below 20 and it would start after a while. But once it warms back up it's fine again.
Previous owners said they could never figure out why it was like that. New battery, spark plugs, blah blah blah.

Well this year, once it hit single-digit temps, it wouldn't start. Then still wouldn't work even after it warmed up.

After days of hours of digging around in the engine, and reading about all sorts of solutions on the internet, I decided it was the ignition switch.
Swapped that out (as well as the cylinder key doohicky) and it fired right up. Yay! So no more late days because my car wouldn't start.

Is it ever wrong to do the right thing?

My answer is "no". But I would take a very specific view on what is right. If it's wrong to do something right, then it's not truly right. It's wrong.

I'm sorry I can't send you photographs of me right now. All pictures of me that I have are painted by talented artists. We should have a painting made of us once you get here too!

I don't know your plans for once you get here, but I can arrange to set you up in my guest house while you are getting settled in. You may stay there for as long as you like, free of charge of course. I recently came into a great deal of money (a few wise investments) and am still figuring out what to do with it.
